Avian Circovirus, also known as Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), is a viral disease that affects parrots and cockatoos. This airborne contagious disease is very common in birds from the Psittacidae Family.

Fresh or air-dried blood spot are used for diagnose.

Results in 4-10 working days.

Avian Circovirus, also known as Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), is a viral disease that affects parrots and cockatoos. Different strains of avian circovirus can cause disease in pigeons and passerines (such as canaries and finches). This airborne contagious disease is very common in birds from the Psittacidae Family.

We analyze the following samples:

Fresh blood extracted by a vet and conserved in EDTA anticoagulant. Samples can be shipped at room temperature.

Dried blood spot placed on request form. Two drops should be enough. Samples can be shipped at room temperature.

Results published in 4-10 working days.
